Creation Pitcher
On one side of this sculptural pitcher is an airbrushed image depicting God's hand providing the necessary order for the earth, and the cosmos. Genesis 1:1-4, "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. Then God said, "Let there be light"; and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness. God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day." On the other side of the pitcher is a picture of Adam and Eve being expelled from the garden, reminiscent of Masaccio's 'The expulsion from the Garden of Eden.' Genesis3,"Then the LORD God said,'Behold, the man has become like one of us in knowing good and evil. Now, lest he reach out his hand and take also of the tree of life and eat, and live forever-' therefore the LORD God sent him out from the garden of Eden to work the ground from which he was taken. He drove out the man, and at the east of the garden of Eden he placed the cherubim and a flaming sword that turned every way to guard the way to the tree of life.
