Woodfired Ceramic Vase
This ceramic vase was wheel thrown stoneware clay, bisque fired to cone 04, then baked for 8-10 hours in an woodfiring pit. While the various complexities of the markings on the surface appear to be caused by chance, each mark can be rationally examined an explained. As R.C. Sproul explains in his book entitled 'Not a chance!' "Chance as a real force is a myth. It has no basis in reality and no place in scientific inquiry. For science and philosophy to continue to advance in knowledge, chance must be demythologized once and for all." David Hume: "Chance is only our ignorance of real causes"; Charles Darwin: "I cannot look at the universe as a result of blind chance."
